Sunday June 8, 1902.

The past week has been hot & dry Crop prospects poor. Commenced Cutting [p. 104] lucern Tuesday 3d Hag [Had] Jos. O Dunn & Herold skelton helping Legrand & Joel. Stopped off cutting Friday & Saturday to haul car of lumber from depot.

I worked at implement house, attended the irrigating &c.

This day Sunday I attended school here & offered the closing prayr and with Bro W. H. Lee went to E. T. Ward & attended meeting there & spoke to the people.

This day our baby girl was born at 4:35 P.M. Alice got on nicely May the Lord be praised.

The boys busy hauling hay.

The past week I have been engaged in the implement & lumber business with good success. At this writing Alice is getting on nicely, weather moderated. By consent of Prest Gowans, I remain at home for company for the Sick this day while Prest. Gowans goes to St. John. I yesterday wrote a number of letters to our relatives announcing birth of baby.

Prest Gowans & I went to Clover and attended School & Meeting Took dinner at Bp. M Stookeys. Sister Burridge and Miss Nelson returned with us from St. Johns.

Prest. Gowans & I went to Mercur Attended School & meeting. Took dinner at Bro Speirs hous[e] and Supper at Bro & Sister Buttes. After evening meeting I administered Patriarchal blessing to Elizabeth Hopkins daughter of Mrs Cooks. Slept with Prest Gowans at Bp. Geo. Bryans & took breakfast [p. 105] with Sister Bryans.
