I hauled to mill 375 bu. of wheat for McBride & Sharp & 20 bu. for grist. Used two teams [p. 80] Repaired road near Rimingtons and at Bowden & Larson fields.

I commenced hauling my hay with two teams. Broke Derrick pole & got up but three loads of hay Repaired Derrick in part. Jos. Tate helped me.

We finished the Derrick in the Morning I bought new rope for Derrick 180 ft. Hauled two loads hay & unloaded them. Settled with McBride in the evening & received ck of $40.56 in settlement for wheat.

Tooele Weather warm. Stephen & George went to Salt Lake City I wrote to Mother a 6 page letter & sent my note for $1000.00 Dated July 1st 1896 for that amount of money I am about to borrow from her. Pronounced two Blessings

I took team & carriage & Prest Gowans & wife to Grantsville Where we attended meeting [p. 81] and presented & commented on the Church Declaration.

Hauled hay all day. Administered to Bro. McLain & to our Sarah in evening; She jumped from fence, her cloths caught on fence & sprained her neck. She cried most of the night with pain.

I took team & Carriage & went to the Cave around the Point of Mountain & got pigs My wife, Sarah & Mamie accompanied me & staid at Beech until my return that far. Received Card from Fred & answered it. Went up to Mill. Geo. & other boys hauled two loads hay & washed the horses with Carbolic solution. [p. 82]

I got my old wagon from Jos. Tates exchanged racks & hauled four loads of hay from Bowden farm. Sent by Kirk to S L City for Skins & Boxings for wagon & arranged with J. T. Dick to put them on. Mailed letter to Nerva & Card to Fred & received a letter from Mother saying she had rec’d my note for $1000. payable on demand & would send draft for that acc’t by next mail.

I hauled hay in forenoon & in afternoon attended High Council meeting where J. C. DeLaMare tendered his resignation as an alternate which was laid over for 3 mos. to give him time to conform to the views of his brethren. Accompanied Prest. Gowans up to Bowens & administered to Annie Bowen. Retired early.

Tooele Weather warm & storm threatening. I wrote to Mother, Alice Ann, Nerva & Fred. Recorded 40 44 baptisms for dead & three endowments for dead by Nerva, got [p. 83] out some names for Alice Ann to work for in temple. Recorded one blessing, Attended Meeting, Circle & opened same & Accompanied Prest. Gowans down to Park’s & administered to sister Park. Spent a few hours with my family at home & retired to bed early.

I took team & buggy before breakfast & Alice accompanied me over to field, brought back Nell mare & after breakfast went over to Larson field. Started plowing with 4 horses & gang plow, then made leveler & put 4 horses on it & left the boys leveling. I transplanted poplars, dug stumps &c.

I Commenced hauling hay, unloaded two loads & was caught in storm with half a load & had to come home Took wagon to shop & had thimbles & skiens put on it. Attended a School meeting & Trustees election. acted as chairman of former & Judge of the latter. [p. 84]

I plowed with 4 horses & had 3 horses on the harrows. Stephen driving & Georgie was hoing corn. used Jos. Tate’s team.

I continued the work of the day previous Joel helping George & they finished the corn hoing.

I continued the hay hauling & plowing & finished the hauling of wheat hay stacked at field & finished the 2nd plowing. Took Nell & Madam up to Bowden field & looked at hay & called on J. B. Bowden about land & his note.

I shaved, recorded a blessing, attended School, meeting & circle & spoke in meeting Karl Kimball & Della Anderson here by buggy [p. 85]

Tooele Weather pleasant. Hauled barley half day. Put machinery away in sheds, shaved, bathed recorded three blessings & gave Pharis Dunyon a blessing. Attended theatre in the evening.

I took team, carriage & all the family except Estella & George & Stephen accompanied us to City. Put up at Stephen’s Sugar House Ward. Lunched & ate cream under trees.

I got my team shoed & drove the folks up to Farmington & put up at Nervas, Went [p. 86] down to Alice’s sister Mariar’s in the evening.

Nerva accompanied us to Salt Lake & Sugar where I left my team & Alice Sister Nerva & Louise went to the Funeral Services of Apostle Abram H. Cannon at the large tabernacle which was filled to over flowing. Drapings all in white & most beautiful. Speakers were Lorenzo Snow, Wilford Woodruff & Joseph F. Smith.

My father offered the opening & Brigham Young the closing prayrs.

Staid all night at Doctor Stephens.

Sugar House Weather threatening Som[e] rain.

We left Sugar House for home at 10:30 & arrived home @ 3:30 P.M. Left Nerva to go to Farmington to stay with sister Nerva & brough[t] back with us Stephen & Willard Doctor Stephen’s children.

Bought a harness of John England. Put screens to windows & over lower part of up stairs front door to prevent accident. Gave to Frank Hansen a [p. 87] blessing in the evening. Wrote letter to Wm Allen Archetect of Kaysville 1st letter in relation to building.
