August 1897

1 August 1897 • Sunday

This morning we lingered over the last of the packing and Verona’s uncle1 came and then Johnnie [Jonathan J.] Toronto and one or two others to say Good bye– We had dinner together and the boys went to dinner over to Belle’s. She is suffering very severely with her face and head. I have prayed earnestly for her to be relieved of pain but cannot quite exercise faith enough. How I wish I could see my loved ones all of them, sound in the Gospel and willing to be obedient to the commandments of God. My heart aches when I think any are wayward. When we had dinner over we went to the station on the cars Caroline helped with the boys and valise. Bade Verona and the boys Good bye and came home direct, perhaps we may never <meet again> [p. 245] {p. 114}

[George G.] Bywater & Claudius V. Spencer. sang “Unveil thy bosom faithful tomb,” [“]Farewell all earthly honors & Rest on the hillside Rest.” opening prayer Counselor George [E.] Woolley– dismissed by Bishop <Wm.> Thorne.
