[. . .] prayer by Miss E. R. Snow [. . .]

President Mrs. [Elizabeth F.] Thomas, was happy to see Sister Snow & other visitors present, who had just returned from a trip south, & expressed a desire to hear from them.

Miss E. R. Snow gave a short Sketch of their journey. said they had visited & held meetings at Moroni, Mount Pleasant, Ephraim, Manti, Gunnison, Levan, Nephi, Santaquin, Payson, Spanish Fork, Springville, [p. 42] & Provo. President [Brigham] Young & others of the Brethren attendend the relief socity’s Meetings at Moroni. They had been meeting monthly & the Pres. told them to meet one a week. said the brethren manifested much of the power of God in their teachings.

Organized a Y. L. R. Association in Gunnison & remarked how cheerfully they came forward. Said that in Ephriam they were all called upon to renew their Covenants & be re-baptized, said this would draw a dividing line between those who were dessierous [desirous] of serving God, & those who were not; this is the time for the young to step forward & renew their Covenants & prepare to live a more holy life. Spoke of a Relief Society held at Nephi, upwords of one hundred joining.

Returned home from Provo & heard there were some friends in the City whom she had met in Greece. called on them the next day & bore her testimony to the daughter of the gentleman who first printed the book of Mormon. Stated further to the young sisters that she hoped they would not think they were leading useless lives; for this preperation is necessary for you to be ready to perform labors for the living & the dead. advised them to be polite when at home & establish this habit of being courteous at all times & in all places. Study to use correct language. Was pleased to hear so good a report from the yo[u]ng ladies & was proud to cite them as examples to other associations.
