[principles] of our religion as the Y. M. [Young Men] You are so situated that by living for it, you can make your <characters> lives just what you wish. Advised the Y. L. to become good housekeepers & then to this add all the accomplishments to which you can attain. Study the laws of health. Exert influence with the Y. M. for good: refuse to keep company with the intemperate. Never marry outside of the church: think seriously on this subject of marriage for your future welfare depends on it.
