Granger Relief Society; Granger, Utah Territory

[. . .] Sister [Mary E.] Porter then stated that Sisters E. R. S. Smith, [Bathsheba B.] Smith and whitney [Helen Mar Kimball Whitney?] were in our midst and they would occupy the the time. Sister Snow Smith was pleased to meet with the few that had assembled themselves together said the sisters had their duties to perform and also had the brothers we find these soci[e]ties a great blessing the people brothers as well as sisters the first duty is to look after the poor. our spirits have been held in reserve to come in this dispensation. we need a Young Ladies Organization for they have a great duty to perform. said we also should have a Primary Association. said if she had had the privalges [privileges] that the young girls now have she could have done much more good, she had been a worker all her days but felt to thank her father for it. said any person that had their endowments and honored the same could wash and anoinnt [anoint] the sick and also seal the annointnig [anointing] prayed God to bless all.1 [. . .]

[. . .] Sister Smith was very pl[e]ased to meet with the sisters wished <was glad> the Bishop [Daniel McRae] and Councelors were present to hear Sister Snow speak. [. . .] [p. 14]
