On the 30th of [blank space] the Bishop [Alonzo Raleigh] and Sister Eliza R. Snow accompanied by Sister Margret [Margaret] P Young sister E R Snow visited our meeting <Sister E R Snow> she gave some instructions concerning the proper way of organizing a Female Relief society and that <said> none were to be admitted as members except those that the Bishop would reccommend as good respectable women. Sister A A [Ann Agatha] Pratt then proceeded according to her instructions to vote in the members of the society the Bishop said he would reccommend all that were present with one exception the following names were then voting voted in as members of the Female Relief Society several persons were then voted in to act in the capacity of Teachers to visit on the several blocks Sister E R Snow then proceeded to give some valuable instructions to those of the sisters who were appointed Teachers to go in the spirit of humility carrying with them a good influence even the gift and power of the holy Ghost offering consolation [p. 3] and instruction according to the several needs of those visited also said the design of these societies was to aid and assist the Bishop in providing for the poor and instructing the sisters in their duties as wives and Mothers in the Kingdom of God the Bishop then gave some very good teachings coinciding with the instructions given in the meeting. he having an appointment elsewere then took his leave after some instructions from sister E R Snow about keeping a record of our proceedings it was voted that our meeting be adjourned on the next tuesday at two oclock pm the meeting was dismissed by sister E R Snow.
