Miss E. R. Snow then gave an account of the trip North, taken recently by herself and Mrs. M. I. [Mary Isabella Hales] Horne, and the work going on in the settlements they had visited.
[. . .] Mrs. P. [Phebe C.] Woodruff, Mrs. Madsen, Mrs. W. [Wilmirth G.] East, Mrs. R. [Romania B.] Pratt, Mrs. E. [Elvira] S. Barney, Mrs. [Mary Ann E.] Watmough each made excellent remarks, after which Miss E. R. Snow said: “We expect to petition the Legislature to let us have a Female Medical College, and we shall want some lady qualified to superintend it; it is for this purpose we are trying to raise means to send Mrs. Pratt East that she may qualify herself for this position.”
