Prest Snow then arose & apologized for being late and said: It becomes us all of becoming doing as well as we can, for we have our blessings to earn, we are far from being perfect, and when I think of the perfection of those holy beings, I feel as though I must watch over myself very closely and be guided continually by the Spirit of God, I have much enjoyed the Society of the Sisters of No [number] 18 Ward, the Lord has a host of Daughters [p. 73] who are all trying to come back to his presence. I would say to my Sisters of the 18 Ward, since the organization of our Relief Society, we have had union; I do not know of any discord, we are short of teachers, we want good women to act as teachers, it was moved seconded and carried that Fanny [Y.] Thatcher act as Teacher. It was moved seconded and carried that Eliza Leinhardt become a member and Eliza Evans as member and Teacher.
Sister Snow then said: Owing to the various positions that I hold, and feeling that I cannot attend to my duties as president of the 18 Ward Relief Society, I tender my resignation which I hope the sisters will accept. Sister Snow moved that it be accepted, the motion was seconded and the vote was unanimous. I have a right to make a nomination of another president. I nominate sister Ellen [B.] Barton, all those who are willing to sustain <her>, make it manifest in the usual way; the vote was unanimous.
Sister Snow then said, My dear Sisters, I shall be with you as often as I can, it is a great responsibility, to fill my position in the Kingdom of God, a vote of thanks was tendered to Sister Snow by the sisters, [p. 74] for her wise council to them while President
