Matilda Moorhouse Barratt

17 January 1837 — 14 April 1902

1 Born at Stockport, Cheshire, England; daughter of Mary Clarkson and Samuel Moorhouse. 2 Married John Barratt, 1864; three children. 3 Migrated to Utah Territory, 1876. 4 Served as first counselor in the general Primary presidency, 1880–1888. 5 Served as treasurer of the Deseret Hospital board. 6 Donated funds to build Barratt Hall on the Latter-day Saints’ University campus in Salt Lake City; made substantial gifts to the church, to temples, and to funds to build her ward meetinghouse and to support a children’s library. 7 Died at Salt Lake City. 8 (See Document 4.4, 4.11)
