1 Born at Waddington, Yorkshire, England; son of Mary Earnshaw and Richard Spencer. 2 Immigrated to the United States aboard the Sheffield, 1841. 3 Lived at Pottawattamie County, Iowa. 4 Migrated to the Salt Lake Valley, 1852. 5 Married first Jerusha Kibbee Elmer, 1858; participated in plural marriage. 6 Married second Lucy Lodica Elmer, 1860. 7 Settled at Payson, Utah County, Utah Territory. 8 Appointed to settle in Thistle Valley, Sanpete County, Utah Territory, 1877. 9 Served as bishop of the Indianola Ward. 10 Died at Payson. 11 (See Document 4.7)
