John Christopher Armstrong

1813 — 1854

Born in England; prosperous tailor with as many as sixty employees when baptized in 1844; immigrated to U.S. in 1845; settled first in St. Louis and then went west to the Salt Lake Valley in 1847; member of expedition that explored southern Utah, 1849–50; member of Thirtieth Quorum of Seventy, along with GQC; called on mission to England in 1852; died in St. Louis, Missouri, en route home to Utah.
