William Jarvis Robinson was born 2 January 1860 in American Fork, Utah Territory, to John Robinson and Mary Ann Levens. He moved to Grantsville, Utah Territory, with his family by 1870. On 16 December 1880, he married Marintha Drucilla Birch, who died on 1 January 1893. He then married Mary A. Blomdahl on 20 June 1894 in Salt Lake City, Utah Territory. After her death on 28 January 1931, he married Florence Kimball Hyde on 4 April 1932. Robinson became the principal of Grantsville schools, and then superintendent of all “Deseret schools” in Tooele County after his graduation from the University of Deseret in 1887. On 10 September 1891, Robinson was involved, as Tooele County superintendent, in the organization of the County Teachers’ Institute. He was also a businessman, merchant, and mine operator. Robinson died on 5 October 1941 in Salt Lake City.[1]
