Eugene Stanley Sears

14 September 1882 — 7 February 1950

Born 14 Sept. 1882 at Salt Lake City.[1] Son of Septimus Wagstaff Sears and Isabel Modalena Whitney.[2] Grandson of EBW.[3] Lived with his family in San Francisco, 1886–1891.[4] Involved in bicycle racing; identified as a rider of promise, 1901.[5] Attended school in Chicago, where he studied art, 1902–1903.[6] EBW visited with him while she was in Chicago, Mar. 1902.[7] Sued for gambling debts, 1905, in Ogden, Weber Co., Utah.[8] Married Eleanor Isabel Rhein, 25 June 1907, in Chicago.[9] Remarried Isabel Rhein, 6 Oct. 1911, in Burlington, De Moines Co., Iowa; one adopted son.[10] Lived in Salt Lake City, 1914–1918.[11] Registered for the draft in Chicago, 1918.[12]  Returned to Salt Lake City, 1920; worked as an automobile salesman.[13] Served as a pallbearer at EBW’s funeral, 29 Apr. 1921.[14] Traveling salesman; held various sales and management positions in Kankakee, Kankakee Co., Illinois, 1922; in Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska, 1928; in Mobile, Mobile Co., Alabama, 1930–1932; in Cincinnati, 1938; and in Newport, Campbell Co., Kentucky, 1940–1943.[15] Died 7 Feb. 1950 in Cincinnati; buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, Campbell Co. [16]
